Storage Requirements for High-Pressure Pumps

When a high-pressure pump is not in use-whether temporarily or for an extended period-it must be stored in a suitable environment. The storage location should be dry and well-ventilated, shielded from prolonged direct sunlight, and kept away from rain, moisture, and corrosive gases. Ideally, the pump should be placed on a level, stable surface to protect it from impacts or crushing forces. Storing the equipment outdoors for long periods can lead to issues such as pump body rust, moisture damage to electrical components, and seal degradation, all of which can impair future operation.

Before storage, the high-pressure pump should be thoroughly cleaned; all oil, dust, and other impurities must be removed from the surfaces of the pump body, piping, and related components. If the pump has been handling corrosive or easily solidified liquids, any residual medium inside must be drained and the unit cleaned as required by the equipment specifications. After cleaning, ensure the interior is completely dry to prevent residual liquid from causing corrosion or blockages during storage.

Protective measures should be taken for the pump's inlet and outlet piping during storage to prevent dust, debris, and moisture from entering the pump body. The inlet and outlet ports should be sealed, and the condition of flanges, fittings, and seals should be inspected. Moisture protection is also essential for the motor and electrical control components; the motor must not be placed in a damp environment. Bearings and transmission parts requiring lubrication should be properly lubricated and treated with anti-rust agents in accordance with equipment specifications to minimize rust and wear caused by prolonged inactivity.
