Submerged Design for Safe LNG Transfer

 

The LNG submersible pump is built with a simple but critical concept: the motor and pump operate fully immersed in the LNG itself. This eliminates shaft seals entirely-the most common leak point in conventional pumps-and makes the unit inherently safer for flammable cryogenic services. It is a compact, vertical, in-line design where the motor stator and rotor are cooled directly by the LNG flowing through the pump, so no external cooling system is required.

With flow rates from 0.5 m³/h up to 2,500 m³/h and heads reaching 2,600 meters, this pump adapts to a variety of LNG applications. It handles cargo unloading at import terminals, boosts pressure for storage tank operations, and fills transport trucks at satellite stations. The impellers-closed or semi-open type-are machined on five-axis equipment for precise hydraulic profiles, and the bearings and wear rings are validated for cryogenic service to maintain consistent clearances at -162°C.

The company operates multiple in-house cryogenic test benches that simulate actual LNG conditions. Each pump goes through a full test sequence covering flow, head, NPSH, vibration, and seal durability. A complete cryogenic performance report accompanies every shipment. Third-party inspection can be arranged, and the company holds China Classification Society (CCS) type approval for relevant products.

The production base in Hangzhou's Fuyang district covers 20,000 square meters and employs about 120 production and technical staff. The facility includes precision machining centers, clean assembly workstations, and the in-house test platforms mentioned above. ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications are in place, and the annual capacity exceeds 1,000 units for cryogenic equipment.

For custom-configured pumps, the typical lead time from technical approval to delivery is 32 weeks. The company provides engineering support throughout the selection and ordering process, and after delivery, services include installation guidance, commissioning support, spare parts supply, and operator training as specified in the contract.
