The long shaft magnetic pump combines magnetic-drive technology with an extended shaft configuration, placing the motor at the top of the tank and the pump head inside the container. This design is particularly suited for taking liquid from deep storage tanks and transferring methanol, liquid ammonia, and other media with high vapor pressure, low boiling points, or toxic characteristics. By eliminating intermediate piping connections and their associated seal points, the pump reduces potential leak paths to a minimum.

A long shaft passes through the tank top flange, transmitting power from the motor to the pump head positioned inside the vessel. The magnetic coupling delivers torque without a dynamic shaft seal, so there is no leakage path through the tank penetration. The wetted components are manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel or alloy materials, and the guide bearings and thrust bearings are optimized for stable long-shaft operation. Flow rates range from 0.5 m³/h up to 500 m³/h, with heads up to 100 meters. The specific shaft length and diameter are selected based on tank depth, media properties, and transfer distance.

The pump mounts on the tank top flange, with the pump head immersed in the stored liquid. Maintenance can be performed without emptying the tank or removing the entire vessel top-the pump head can be accessed through the flange opening. This simplifies servicing and reduces downtime compared to pumps that require tank entry for maintenance.
