The marine centrifugal pump is designed for clean-fuel supply systems on dual-fuel vessels using LNG, methanol, or liquid ammonia. It handles the critical job of transferring cryogenic liquid fuel from storage tanks to vaporizers or directly to the engine. The pump is engineered specifically for the constraints of shipboard installation-limited space, continuous motion, rolling and pitching conditions, sustained vibration, and strict maritime safety requirements.
Construction for Marine Conditions
All wetted components are manufactured from high-strength stainless steel, copper alloys, and other corrosion-resistant materials validated for low-temperature and corrosive service. The pump is compact and lightweight for installation in engine rooms and other confined spaces, with reinforced structural elements to maintain performance under ship motion and vibration. Flow rates range from 0.5 m³/h up to 2,500 m³/h, with heads up to 2,600 meters.
Variable Speed Control for Load Flexibility
The pump can be supplied with a variable frequency drive, allowing flow modulation to match different engine load conditions. This capability improves vessel fuel efficiency and reduces operating costs by avoiding the inefficiencies of fixed-speed operation at partial load.
Marine Certification and Testing
The marine centrifugal pump holds CCS type approval. Each unit undergoes rigorous factory performance testing, and ship surveyor witness testing can be arranged. The product meets the requirements of IMO Tier III emission regulations for clean-fuel propulsion systems.
