The cryogenic reciprocating pump is a plunger-type positive displacement pump designed for LNG, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, and liquid oxygen service across a pressure range of 25 MPa to 100 MPa. It handles the same demanding high-pressure applications as the high pressure reciprocating pump, with a design focus on long-term reliability and volumetric efficiency under continuous operation at cryogenic temperatures.

The horizontal pump uses a crank-connecting rod mechanism to drive the plunger in reciprocating motion. The design is mechanically straightforward, with few moving parts and well-understood failure modes. The plungers and intake/exhaust valve assemblies are manufactured from wear-resistant high-strength alloys validated for cryogenic service, and the specialized low-temperature sealing system maintains stable performance over extended operating periods.

Flow rates range from 0.4 m³/h upward. Discharge pressures are available from 25 MPa to 100 MPa, with different plunger diameters and stroke lengths selected to match the required pressure. The inlet flow path is designed to minimize cavitation under challenging suction conditions, and the valve assembly is optimized for low net positive suction head requirements.

Testing and Documentation

 

Each pump undergoes full performance testing on the company's in-house cryogenic test bench. Test data includes flow, pressure, temperature, and efficiency measurements across the full operating range. Each unit ships with a complete test report and performance curves.

Lead time from technical approval to delivery is typically 32 weeks for custom-engineered units.
